TULSA, Okla. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team went 3-4 on day two of the St. Francis Hospital ITA All-American as sophomore Jefta Kecic is the lone Bronco who has a shot at making the qualifying draw that is set to begin on Monday, Oct. 5.
After opening 1-0 on day, Kecic earned wins over Jake Albo of Florida State and Albeto Esteban of Tennesee Tech to make it to the round of 32. Kecic will play one more match in the pre-qualifying draw and if he wins he will make the qualifying draw with 128 competitors. Kecic is the only WMU individual guarenteed a match, as the four other Broncos have been eliminated.
Matt Hamilton opened day two with a win over Pablo Moreno of Troy, but fell to Jordan Belga of Florida to be eliminated from the pre-qualifying draw. Ruben Greiner and Daniel Loebel each dropped their match in the round of 128 while Maik Steiner fell in the pre-qualifying consolation.
