IRVING, Texas -- Western Michigan's Justin Currie was named to the 2015 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play that maintained a cumultive GPA of 3.2 or better throughout their college careers.
Currie maintained a 3.55 GPA through his four seasons at Western MIchigan, majoring in criminal justice. Currie was a two-time Academic All-MAC selection and also earned Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention. This season he was named a MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete for his performance on the field and in the classroom.
The Big Rapids, Mich., native wrapped up his career being named Third Team All-MAC after leading the team in tackles with 105 and one interception. In his career he played in 47 total games and recorded 339 tackles, including a career-high 113 in 2013.
