Sophomore Shortstop Andrew Sohn Named First Team All-MAC

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan sophomore shortstop Andrew Sohn has been named First Team All-Mid-American Conference.

Sohn led the Broncos in nearly every offensive category and at the end of the regular season ranked seventh in the MAC with a .337 batting average and fifth in the conference with 70 hits.

Sohn also had a team-best nine doubles, two triples, two home runs, 36 RBIs, 89 total bases, .428 slugging percentage, .389 on-base percentage and 17 stolen bases, going 17-for-19 in attempts. Defensively, he maintained a .947 fielding percentage.

During the season, Sohn rattled off a 12-game hitting streak and was honored as MAC Player of the Week.

This is the second year in a row Western Michigan has placed a player on the All-MAC First Team. Third baseman Ryan McMillin earned the award last year. Sohn becomes the first Bronco shortstop selected to the First Team since current major leaguer Adam Rosales picked up the honor in 2004 and 2005.
