KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan hockey team heads into the final weekend of the regular season ranked eighth in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

The Broncos (18-8-8, 14-6-6-3 CCHA) currently sit in second place in the CCHA standings, five points behind first place Miami and one point ahead of Notre Dame. WMU split shootout results with the Fighting Irish last weekend, securing home ice for the second round of the playoffs and can now finish no lower than in third place.

Western Michigan has maintained a position in both national polls every week this season and have been ranked in the top 10 for 14 straight weeks. The Broncos close out the regular season with a pair of games at Michigan State on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Both games will be carried live on Comcast.
