Sujashvili Named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - It was announced today that Nini Sujashvili of the Western Michigan women's tennis team was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 21. It is the first time this season Sujashvili has taken home the honor.

Sujashvili, who carries a 3.96 GPA in Pre-Psychology, helped the Broncos dominate a doubleheader against IUPUI and Bradley on Saturday, notching a perfect 4-0 record on the day winning a pair of No. 1 singles matches, a No. 1 doubles match, and a No. 2 doubles match. To open the day, Sujashvili teamed up with Kathleen Hawkins to down IUPUI team of Vanessa Whyte and Rachael Bridegroom 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles match. Sujashvili then went on to defeat Whyte in the No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-1 to give the Broncos a 2-0 advantage.

In the second match of the day against Bradley, Sujashvili teamed up with Maggie Remynse to take the No. 2 doubles match against Sarah Rodefeld and Cassia Wojtalik 8-1. To complete her perfect day, Sujashvili defeated Adele Henke 6-4, 6-3.
