This Week
The Western Michigan volleyball team will finish a three-match road swing with a rare mid-week non-conference match, when the Broncos make the trek to Milwaukee to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles on Tuesday, October 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

This will be the ninth meeting between the two teams, with the Broncos holding a 5-3 edge in the all-time series. Interestingly enough, this will be just the second time the teams have played each other in Milwaukee; that meeting came in 2005, when the Broncos swept the Golden Eagles 3-0.

The Broncos are 3-1 overall against Marquette under Colleen Munson, including a 3-1 win in last season's match played at University Arena. Four different Broncos notched double-digit kills in the victory, including Jessica Brown, Ali Gossen, and Gillian Asque.

Oliver Among the Elite
Lena Oliver reached 1,662 career digs last weekend, passing Katy Duffy and Allyson Doyle for second place on the career digs list at Western Michigan. Oliver now has a season and a half to catch the program's career digs leader; she will need to surpass 2,583 career digs to top Caitlin Strimel's mark.

Two Way Player
Terin Norris set a team record with 18 Assists-Digs double-doubles in 2011, and appears to be off to the same kind of start in 2012. Norris has recorded nine double-doubles already in 2012.

Brown Climbing the Charts
Jessica Brown continued her rise in the Bronco record books this season, as the senior approaches the top-five in career kills in a Bronco uniform. Brown reached 1,355 career kills this past weekend, passing Liz Gunn for sixth on the career kills list. Brown needs to reach 1,371 kills to pass Katie Eberling for fifth on the list, and 1,387 kills to pass WMU Hall of Famer Sarah Powers for fourth.

Freshman Force
Freshman middle blocker Stephenee Yancy is averaging 2.23 kills per set in MAC play this year, but she has been dynamite over her past four matches in particular; Yancy is hitting .431 and averaging 2.33 kills per set in that span, including matches of back-to-back double digit kills against Northern Illinois and Bowling Green. Yancy was especially dangerous against the Huskies, hitting .625 in the win.

Acree on the Rise
Sophomore defensive specialist Kaycee Acree is averaging 3.12 digs/set in 2012, up nearly a half-dig a set from her 2.70 average in 2011. Acree has already recorded 206 digs in 2012, and will likely shatter last year's mark of 330 digs.

Ace High
The Broncos set a new season-high for team service aces against the Huskies on Thursday, recording six total aces in the match. Gillian Asque and Lena Oliver each recorded a pair of aces in the match, and Asque in fact has three aces in her last two matches...the first two matches this season in which she has recorded a service attempt.
