MUNCIE, Ind. -- Junior goalkeeper Michelle Watson made a career-high 12 saves as the Western Michigan women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw in Mid-American Conference play at Ball State on Sunday afternoon.

Watson, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, made six saves in the first half, four in the second half and two in the second overtime period. The Cardinals outshot the Broncos 20-8 and had a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal but nothing got behind Watson, who's previous career-high was 10 saves in a loss at Buffalo last season.

"Michelle was fantastic today," said head coach Nate Norman. "Her presence back there gives everyone else so much confidence. She made all the saves she had to make and our back line had a great day. The second half and the overtimes, they were the best I have seen them play all season."

Junior midfielder Megan Putnam led all Broncos with four total shots on the day, while sophomore forward Diana Dedvukaj landed both of her shots on goal for a team high two.

Western Michigan hosts Kent State on Friday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. and then Ohio for its final regular season home game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. The Broncos will celebrate the careers of its five seniors KelseY Baskins, Anina Cicerone, Stefana Ciraulo, Megan Matula and Brittney Pavlica on Sunday against the Bobcats.
