KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan fell to Mid-American Conference rivals Central Michigan in front of 220 fans at the WMU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
The lone goal came in the 63rd minute when Estee Outcalt crossed the ball into the WMU box and connected with Josie Seebeck, who directed it into the net for her first goal of the season. The Broncos fired off seven shots but were held to just two on net.
Both of WMU's chances came late in the second half with the Broncos down a goal.
Diana Dedvukaj fired a shot from 25 yards out but the low drive was snatched up by CMU goalie Stefanie Turner. Moments late
Anina Cicerone headed a perfectly placed corner kick by
Rachel Chaney but it was right into the mitts of Turner.
Western Michigan hosts Bowling Green on Sunday at 1 p.m. to continue MAC play.
