Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference is pleased to announce a new social media opportunity for all fans this football season. The MAC Football Social Media Road Tour will be coming to Western Michigan University's campus and fans will have the chance to experience a game like never before! Want to go on the field during pregame warm-ups? Sit in the press box and tweet about what’s going on in the game? Attend the postgame press conference? Well all of those things plus many more are possible as three lucky fans will be chosen each week and will report on the game from the “fan perspective.” 

In the past year the MAC has tried to make a push to get fans more engaged. They realize that social media platforms have taken over in terms of how people get their news and how they interact with one another about the things they are most passionate about. We would like to give a select number of fans the opportunity to experience our MAC Football Social Media Road Tour and have them cover the game from a fan perspective. The MAC feels this is just another way to get fans involved and talking about MAC football! Why not extend this experience to some of our most passionate fans?
 
Those selected will have to bring their “A” game during the year and cover the event better than anyone else because the best of the best will be sent to Detroit, Michigan for the 2012 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game on Friday, November 30th. We will chose six of the best fan correspondents from the year to sit in our Social Media Lounge along with a guest at Ford Field. You will have access to media materials, wireless internet and much more so that you are able to cover our Football Championship game just like a member of the media.  
 
MAC Director of Communications Jeremy Guy (@JGuyMAC) will be headed to each campus this fall and will coordinate the MAC Football Social Media Road Tour for the league office. Also, make sure you follow our new MAC Fan Experience account on Twitter (@ExperienceMAC) that will be for the fans, by the fans. This new account is what those selected will be tweeting from each and every week so make sure you follow it for all of the latest from the fan perspective.
