LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Former Western Michigan volleyball stand out Katie Eberling, along with driver Elana Meyers, captured the bronze medal at the 2012 World Championship this past weekend.
Eberling continues her run with the US women's bobsled team and despite this being her first time at the World Championship, her teammate Meyers and others in the sport are noticing her.
“Katie definitely didn't act like a rookie, she fit in really well
with the veterans,” Meyers said. “I guess it was her great career at
Western Michigan that prepared her for this time. Who would have
thought volleyball to bobsled?”
“I just wanted to act like I've been here before,” Eberling said. “I
didn't want to make any rookie mistakes. I just wanted to have fun and
enjoy being here.”
