Broncos Finish Day One at the Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Western Michigan track and field wrapped up the first day of competition at the Meyo Invitational at the University of Notre Dame on Friday night.

Junior Iris Campbell qualified for the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.79 seconds to advance to Saturday's finals. Her time placed her sixth out of the 12 qualifiers.

Senior Amber Brunmeier nearly turned in a personal best time of 17:27.96, just two seconds shy of her career best. She finished 21st overall, while teammate Teresa Marin finished in 28th. Marin turned in a personal best time of 17:53.52, her fourth new personal best in an event this season.

WMU has a busy day on Saturday at the Meyo, which will culminate with the running of the 4x400 meter relay.
