Broncos Picked To Finish Second In MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the results of the 2012 preseason coaches' poll, with the Western Michigan men's tennis team picked to finish second behind 2011 tournament champion Ball State. The Broncos fell to the Cardinals in the semifinals of the 2011 tournament after winning the 22nd season championship in team history.

The Broncos graduated a large portion of their championship team from last year, but returning to the squad is Second Team All-MAC selection Pablo Olivarez; Olivarez helped Casey Cullen set the school's doubles victory record in 2011 and himself ranks among the schoo's doubles wins leaders. The team's other returning senior is Zeyad Montasser, who has established a 20-19 record so far in 2012.

The Cardinals were picked to win the conference with 28 points, compared to 25 points for the second-place Broncos. The 2010 regular season champion Buffalo was picked to finish third.
