Dani Prince

Dani Prince was hired to the position of assistant coach for Western Michigan's cross country and track and field teams in August 2011 joining head coach Kelly Lycan's staff.

Prince brings a wealth of experience as a coach and as a collegiate distance runner. She competed at the Division I level at Indiana State where she was a Missouri Valley Conference Champion in the 10,000m run and as a part of the distance medley relay team. She earned All-MVC honors in the 5,000m and 3,000m run, still holding the Sycamore record of 9:49 in the 3,000m. Prince also was a captain of the cross country team in 2007.

After graduating with honors with a degree in elementary education from Indiana State, Prince became a high school head coach Bloomington South High School in Bloomington, Ind. after serving two years as an assistant. She coached the cross country team to its highest state finals finish in school history in 2009 and coached three All-State performers, including the 2010 state runner up. Prince was also chosen as the area Cross Country Coach of the Year both in 2009 and 2010, voted as the 2009 Coach of the Year by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association and nominated for coach of the year by the Indiana Association of Cross Country and Track Coaches.
