KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and Director of Athletics Kathy Beauregard are proud to announce the return of the WMU Pep Band to Lawson Ice Arena.
"We are excited to announce the return of the WMU Pep Band to Lawson Ice Arena," said Beauregard. "Under the direction of Dave Montgomery, the WMU Pep Band can add to an already energetic and exciting atmosphere that the Lawson Lunatics and fans create for our Bronco hockey team."
The band will be on hand for the remainder of the home games this season, starting this Friday when Western Michigan hosts Northern Michigan at 7:35 p.m.
I would like to thank Kathy Beauregard and the School of Music for there hard work to make this a reality," said head coach Jeff Blashill. "Pep Bands are part of the fabric of college athletics and to team a hockey pep band with the Lawson Lunatics will give us one of the best collegiate atmospheres in college hockey."
The 17th ranked Broncos currently hold the nation's longest unbeaten streak at nine games. WMU is in a three-way tie with Northern Michigan and Ferris State for fourth place in the CCHA, hosting the Wildcats for two pivotal games on Friday and Saturday.
