DETROIT - Detroit Lions star safety and former Western Michigan Bronco Louis Delmas will be back on WMU's campus to host a fundraiser BBQ on April 17, 2010 in Lot 10 from 3-6 p.m. behind the Waldo Stadium press box. Proceeds from this event will be donated through Delmas' non-profit organization,  "We R Love" which was established in 2009 to help the underprivileged in Haiti.

In collaboration with the Western Michigan Athletic Department, We R Love, Inc.  & Louis Delmas will host a BBQ following the Brown & Gold Spring Game on April 17, 2010. This celebration will allow student athletes, Western Michigan University (WMU) coaching staff, students, and community members to come together and celebrate the close of the football season while raising funds to assist with the relief efforts in Haiti.  

"My non-profit is a way for me to give back to my native country," says Delmas who comes from a Haitian background. "The devastation that occurred in Haiti hit very close to home and I feel that it is my responsibility as a Haitian and an athlete to help where I can and this event is one of many ways I see that goal being accomplished."

The BBQ will follow the Brown & Gold Spring Game at 3-6 p.m.  Tickets will be sold for this event, with a WMU ID for $15 where students will enjoy BBQ food, beverages, sounds by local Kalamazoo DJ Dexter Dinero, and a meet and greet with Louis Delmas. Regular price tickets will be available at $30 for all other community members and guests.  These attendees will enjoy the event as well as receive an autographed photo of Delmas.
