Bronco Hockey Team will host Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, November 7, 2009 for their game against Lake Superior State
Several recognitions are planned throughout the game to recognize both current and former military personnel, including a ceremonial puck drop and a combined color guard featuring members of both the WMU Air Force and Army ROTC. With the assistance of several military personel and local organizations, there will be respresentation from all branches of the military. The team will even be wearing specail jerseys and all in-game promotions will include participants who are affiliated with the military.
In addition, the WMU Advocacy Office for Military Affairs, along with the WMU Military and Veteran's Student Association will be on hand to participate in this special evening. These two groups work together to create care packages to send to military personnel, with WMU ties, who are currenlty serving overseas. The Bronco hockey team and the WMU Athletic Department are encouraging fans to donate items for these care packages. There will be a table located in the lobby of Lawson Arena where you can drop off your donations.
