Western Michigan Dance Team coach Kate Clark is a graduate of WMU with a B.A. in Business Management and currently resides in Kalamazoo.  Kate currently devotes most of her time to running her dance studio, West Michigan Dance Center, in Kalamazoo, where she is fortunate enough to work with many wonderful and talented dancers.  She has received several awards over the years, including Dance Teacher of the Year and numerous other choreography and performance awards. She has choreographed several top award-winning pieces at both the regional and national competitive levels.  Kate has served as head coach of Plainwell High School's Varsity Dance Team for the past 3 years and also continues to be an active staff member with National Dance Alliance.  She also judges for many different high school dance team competitions and competitive studio/company auditions and competitions.

• 2007 NDA All-American Dancer at Camp in Louisville
• Led the bronco dance team to its 2007 NDA National Championship
• 2006-2007 WMU Dance Team Leader of the Year
• 2005-2006 WMU Dance Team Leader of the Year
• 2004-2005 WMU Dance Team Rookie of the Year
• Three-year high school varsity dance team member
• Two-year high school varsity dance team captain
• 2002-03 and 2003-04 NDA High School All-American
• 2004 NDA high school Top Gun Dancer
• Previous 3 year member, 2 year captain of her high school dance team (L'Anse Creuse, Harrison Twp., MI) also previously attended Shelley’s Spotlight School of Dance (Chesterfield, Mich.), Julianna’s Academy of Dance (Madison Heights, Mich.), and Spotlight Dance Works (Chesterfield, Mich.) and competed regionally and nationally for 10+ years
