KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis announced the signing of the highly talent Kennosuke Nouchi, a Japan native who was ranked as high as No. 177 by the International Tennis Federation.
“Kennosuke will be a great addition to our university and tennis program,” WMU head coach Dave Morin said. “He has excelled both as a student in high school and on the international tennis stage in tournaments around the world. I believe he'll be a major contributor to our program during his four-year career, and we're excited to have him joining us at Western Michigan University."
Nouchi, who has a Universal Tennis Rating of 12.48, has many wins over top international players including Naoto Kai (91), Andrew Li (149), Yunosuke Tanaka (120) and many more. Nouchi played in the qualifying draw of the Australian Open Junior Championships. He is also a lefty which provides many challenges for opponents. Nouchi will be with the Broncos starting in the 2016-17 season.
