Women's Basketball Gives Back to the Kalamazoo Community

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Due to the tragic events that struck the city a few weeks ago, the Western Michigan women's basketball raised $552 and donated it all to the United Way.

"We were all saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in our city several weeks ago," head coach Shane Clipfell said. "One thing this city will never be short of is coming to the aid of people in need. We ask a lot of our team throughout the year to give back to our community when we can but this was an extraordinary event. Through the combined efforts of our booster club and our team we are proud to be able to give financial assistance to those affected. We live in a great city with a great university and where there's a need you will always find people willing to help."

With the help of the booster club, the Broncos sold "Kalamazoo Strong" t-shirts that were a hot commodity. Western Michigan University and the Bronco women's basketball team would like to thank every one who helped along the way.
