KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Anna Corbett was named MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Wednesday. Corbett earned the honor for her all-around performance against Ball State where she set a personal-best and tied the fourth highest score in Western Michigan history at 39.175.
Her score included her fourth straight vault title, scoring a season-best 9.850. The 9.850 score on vault was highest in the MAC this week among all bar routines. The 9.850 was also the first of four on the day for her at 9.750 or higher. She had runner-up finishes on both the balance beam (9.775) and the floor (9.800).
In the classroom, Corbett has a 3.91 GPA in nursing. In order to be selected for Scholar Athlete of the Week a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
