KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Sunday, Feb. 5 home gymnastics meet against Illinois-Chicago, which was originally scheduled for 2 p.m., has been bumped up to a 1 p.m. start. As part of Girls Scouts Day, the team will be distributing posters during the meet and hold a post-competition autograph session.
Western Michigan is off to one of the best starts in program history with a 4-0 overall and 3-0 Mid-American Conference record. The Broncos have posted two of the program's top-10 all-time scores in back-to-back weeks with a 194.575 at Northern Illinois on Jan. 22 and a 195.300 at home against Bowling Green this past Sunday. The score against BGSU was the second-highest in school history and the top score produced by a MAC team this year. WMU currently ranks 32nd in the nation with a 193.494 season average.
