Women's Basketball to Hold Open Tryouts, Also Looking For Male Practice Players

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan women's basketball team will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2010-11 season on Sept. 29 from 1-2 p.m. To try out for a Western Michigan varsity athletic team you must be a current, full-time student at WMU.

In order to participate in an open tryout for an varsity athletic program sponsored by the Western Michigan University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, one must obtain a physical as well as a sickle cell test from either Sindecuse Health Center on campus or from your family physician. These items, as well as a completed insurance form must be submitted prior to the tryout.

Western Michigan is also looking for dedicated male student-athletes to serve as practice players for the women's basketball team during the 2010-11 season. Male practice squad players must meet same criteria as for the tryouts.
