Parker Tabbed MAC West Player of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Senior forward Amanda Parker was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week after helping Western Michigan to victories over Toledo and Northern Illinois.

Parker was instrumental in both Western Michigan victories this past week, as the Broncos have won their last three straight and put together their first win streak of the season. In WMU's 70‑57 win at Toledo, Parker took over before the break, helping lock a 10‑point lead at halftime. She personally outscored the Rockets 10‑3 in the final 2:44 of the period, accounting for all the Bronco points in that span. She finished the game with a team‑high 16 points and a career‑high eight rebounds.

Parker again reached double figures in Saturday's 75‑51 win over Northern Illinois, tallying 10 points and three rebounds. She also grabbed a career‑high four steals. For the week, she averaged 13.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg.

It was the first Player of the Week honor of her career. She is the second Bronco to collect the award this season, as junior point guard Tiera DeLaHoussaye has been selected on four occasions.
